Good morning! Brandon peeked out of the anesthesia just a bit last night and again this morning. Don’t really know how aware he is of what is going on, but it is a good sign. We should be getting some results today from the test that were run yesterday during the bronchoscopy, and with more information we should be able to get a more directed treatment plan. The prayers are paying off! Keep up the good work! More later

Just got an update from Dr. Usman. Brandon is showing slight improvement – his heart rate has backed down to around 100 beats/minute and they have been able to reduce the concentration of oxygen through the ventilator from 100% to 80% (we normally breathe around 20% oxygen in the atmosphere). Below are a couple of links to sites giving some more information into what is going on. Slightly technical reading, but a pretty good overview. Please call, text, or message me if you have questions.

OK – Dr. Makhoul just came out of the bronchoscopy and said they had cleared some of the fluid out of Brandon’s chest and taken some samples for testing, but it will be this afternoon or evening before we know much of anything. The rest of the results will not be back until tomorrow, so aside from some periodic blood work to check levels, etc., we are in a holding pattern. Will continue to post updates as they become available.

Should be hearing something soon regarding Brandon. The doc is doing a bronchoscopy to help remove some of the excess fluid from Brandon’s lungs and we will know more once the procedure is done.

Good morning, all. Brandon took a slight turn for the worse overnight, and we were called to the hospital about 3:30. He is currently sedated and on a ventilator, but in the big picture this is a good thing. He was having so much trouble breathing on his own, and now the machine is able to do it for him so he can conserve his energy and get some rest. I have my cell phone with me and Chris is at home withRichard & Dakota (well, Dakota is on his way to school, but still), if anyone would like to call and get more information. Please keep Brandon in your prayers. Thanks, friends.
